SACRAMENTO-

Three people are in custody after what police say was supposed to be a routine traffic stop Friday afternoon in Sacramento.

Officers pulled a car over at 12th Avenue and 30th Street around 4:20 p.m. According to police, one passenger got out and ran into the neighborhood.

“He lost his shorts going over one of the fences,” said Sacramento Police Sgt. Bill Wann. “Inside his shorts was his I.D. and a stolen pistol.”

The man hid inside a home on Franklin Avenue. Two people were on the porch when the man ran inside.

He was arrested soon after.

The other two people inside the car, a man and a woman, were arrested on drug charges.
