Early Election Results – Eastern States Decided

With the first polls closing in several eastern states, CNN projects that Mitt Romney will win Kentucky, while President Obama will win Vermont.

Kentucky has 8 electoral votes and Vermont carries three electoral votes.

CNN is also projecting that Romney will win Indiana and West Virginia.

In 2008, President Obama lost in West Virginia by more than 13% but won in Indiana by 1%. Polls also closed in the swing states of North Carolina and Ohio.
