The heavily watched race between Democratic Congressman Ami Bera and former Republican Congressman Doug Ose will be watched a few days more.
The race for who will represent California’s 7th Congressional District is too close to call.
Only 3,011 votes separate the two men, Ose has a slight lead. Late last night, Ose was clearly excited about his lead but stopped short of declaring victory.
“I want to be clear about two things: We’re going to take this country in a different direction to solve our problems instead of just talking about them. And the party’s on at Rudy’s Hideaway!” Ose said to supporters.
The District 7 campaign in 2014 has been one of the most expensive House of Representative races in the country. National level organizations poured money into both the Ose and Bera campaigns.
Bera won his seat in 2012 after a close race with incumbent Republican Dan Lungren.
He will have to wait a few more days this year for Sacramento County to finalize their results to see who will be representing California’s 7th district.
