If Proposition 36 passes, California`s ‘three strikes’ law would change.  One of the biggest differences includes how criminals are sentenced.  A life sentence on the third strike would only be given if that third strike is for a serious or violent crime.  Felons would also get a life sentence if they had two previous serious or violent felony convictions.
