(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento Police Department has closed Fruitridge Road from 65th Street to 66th Street on Wednesday morning.

According to police, the cause of the closure is due to a fatal vehicle hit-and-run with significant injuries.

Fire personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene of the hit-and-run.

Fatal Mack Road Pedestrian Collision

Just before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, the Sacramento Police Department responded to a fatal collision in the area of Mack Road and Summersdale Drive.

Officer located a woman with serious injuries at the scene and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver in the collision remained on scene as police conducted their investigation.
