While waiting for traffic lights to change at busy intersections, Lodi residents will soon get a chance to view colorful pieces of art.

Five traffic signal control stations are scheduled to get a facelift.

The city is looking for local artists to submit proposals describing how they would like to paint one of the five stations.

Applications must be submitted by March 26. The winning designs will be selected at the beginning of April, and the paintings should be finished by the end of May.
