The cost is no longer $40 a season to play little league like Douglas Dunn Sr. remembers it.

The grandfather coached his son at Rosemont Community Park, who now coaches his son.

But now, the costs could be even higher by next year. The park district raised the league’s field costs from $50 to $2,000, in the middle of the season this year.

“They made it very clear they do not want to get rid of little league, they want to find a way to cut town the field maintenance costs” the league president told FOX40.

The president also told FOX40 Rosemont Little League is in negotiation with the Cordova Park District. After convincing them to lower the fees this year, he says next year is still up in the air.

“They would raise it $10-$20 for each kid, that’s two grand for the league,” Dunn said.
