Placer County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a Roseville man Tuesday afternoon in connection to numerous thefts around Placer County over the last month.

Brock Anthony Kent, 22, was spotted by a deputy patrolling around 4 a.m. in Granite Bay on Monday, June 1.

Kent attempted to avoid the deputy by pulling into the driveway of a home and turning off his car. He said he lived there but a check with the homeowner proved that to be false.

He was then arrested for possession of heroin, methamphetamine and burglary tools in addition to a probation violation. Kent was transported to the Placer County Jail and was released shortly after.

While a probation search was underway at his home on Tuesday, Kent fled the scene. Detectives found him at Maidu Park nearby and he surrendered.

More than 50 similar burglaries and thefts have been reported in the Granite Bay area in the past month; detectives believe they may be connected to Kent.

Detectives recovered property related to burglaries and theft in Granite Bay, Rocklin and Roseville in Kent’s home.

He is currently being held at the Placer County Jail with bail set at $95,000.
