Investigators know the cyclist died as a result of a hit and run around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. The next morning, investigators released a surveillance photo of the car they believe to have been responsible – a silver, 2-door car with tinted windows.

If you see the car, you’re asked to contact police at (916) 264-5471 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357.

Family members of the cyclist were speaking with chaplains, huddled near the perimeter officers created with crime scene tape.

They did not want to speak on camera about their loved one or identify him.

As investigators continued to look for his killer, Sully street between Sextant and Norwood was expected to be closed to traffic at least until 11:30 p.m.
