A powerful 7.1 earthquake rattled the Solomon Islands on Friday morning.

It happened around 7:30 a.m. PT about 270 miles east of Kira Kira, Solomon Islands.

After another large quake off those islands in the Pacific Ocean Wednesday, there have been dozens of aftershocks and other quakes ranging in magnitude from 2.5 to 7.0.

Although there initially were tsunami warnings after Wednesday’s large quake, there have not been any warnings or watches issued Friday morning.
