Sheriffs have identified the two elderly victims who were assaulted in their own home in Diamond Springs Wednesday night.

Faye Holderman, 80, and her husband Gerald Holderman, 91, were assaulted with a deadly weapon in their home on Arlete Lane near Highway 49.

According to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department, Faye Holderman appeared to have injuries to her head and face from being battered and Gerald Holderman underwent surgery for a possible gunshot wound.

The couple’s family released information about their condition, and said Gerald is “looking better” after surgery. Faye is sitting up and talking with family.

The family says the couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this week.

Detectives say there were signs of forced entry into the home, but it did not appear to be ransacked. It has yet to be determined if anything was stolen.

Sheriff’s detectives are actively working this case, if anyone has any information regarding this crime, you can reach Detective Ken Barber at (530) 642-4710 or Detective James Peterson at (530) 642-4713.
