Wednesday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. the Arson Task Force uncovered nearly 5,000 pounds of illegal fireworks from a Fair Oaks home on Copley Court.

John Guill, 59, was arrested and charged with felony possession of illegal and dangerous fireworks for sale.

A concerned citizen tipped off the Arson Task Force leading to a search warrant and arrest.

Guill is still in custody at the Sacramento County Jail.

Due to the extreme damage illegal fireworks can cause, The task force has a zero tolerance policy for anyone found buying, selling or in possession of them.

The confiscated fireworks will be destroyed by the State Fire Marshal.

Metro fire says this is one of the largest illegal fireworks busts ever in Sacramento County.
