Three men have been arrested in connection to a drive-by shooting near Birchwood Way and 5th Street in Turlock from late June.

Officers from the Turlock Police Department, along with the Special Weapons and Tactics Team, showed up at a home near Almaden Way and San Martin Drive in Modesto around 7:20 a.m. Wednesday and served a search warrant.

At the home, two men – 22-year-old Jose Ortiz and 20-year-old Leonardo Ortiz, both Patterson residents – were arrested.

Another search warrant was issued at the two’s home along Pine Creek Lane in Patterson around 4 p.m. At that home, two stolen guns, marijuana, evidence of marijuana sales and cultivation, and about $2,000 in cash was found.

Two pounds of marijuana was also found in Leonardo’s car.

Both Leonard and Jose were taken to Stanislaus County Jail for charges relating to the drive-by, as well as drug possession, suspicion of cultivating marijuana and possession of stolen property charges.

A third man, 32-year-old Turlock resident Juan Carlos Alvarez, was arrested in downtown Modesto Thursday. He was also wanted in connection to the drive-by.
