Three men suspected of looting inside an evacuated Valley Fire area were arrested in Lake County early Thursday morning, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
A deputy patrolling the Hidden Valley Lake area noticed a white pickup turn onto the road. The Sheriff’s Department said in a news release that the deputy stopped the truck and talked to the three men inside.
As the discussion went on, investigators say the men’s story left the deputy with more questions than answers, and each were wearing dark or camouflaged clothing.
Deputies say a search of the truck turned up guns, ammunition, knives and burglary tools.
Investigators say the white, Toyota Tacoma the men were in matched the description of a looting suspect vehicle seen the night before in Cobb.
David Cesari, of San Francisco, was arrested for having burglary tools, entering an enclosed disaster area, having an unregistered firearm with ammunition, carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in public and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Dyami Connel, of Brisbane, was arrested for having burglary tools, entering an enclosed disaster area and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Michael Jimenez, also of Brisbane, was arrested for entering an enclosed disaster area and conspiracy to commit a crime.
All three have a bail set at $100,000.
