A Twitter employee took to the social media site the moment her water broke, and continued to live-tweet her birth to her 300,000+ followers.

Claire Diaz-Ortiz, a social innovation manager for Twitter, did not stop tweeting between her water breaking and the birth of her daughter, Lucia. She used the hashtag “#inlabor” throughout.

Diaz-Ortiz’s decision to live-tweet her labor and delivery was met with plenty of support, many of her followers shared messages of support and congratulations.

From start to finish, Diaz-Ortiz tweeted over thirty tweets about the stages of her labor. She had plenty to talk about, as her car broke down twice while she was being driven by her husband to the hospital, and had to hail a taxi cab.

Once she got to the hospital, though, things began to happen according to plan, and she successfully made it through her labor.

Baby Lucia has also been given her own twitter handle, and has acquired nearly 1,000 followers.
