A citizens’ advisory committee hosted a town hall meeting in Virginia beach Tuesday night on the subject of building an arena in that city.

City leaders updated citizens on the location of the proposed arena, and took community input.  That input will be presented to the Virginia Beach City Council.

Media reports from the meeting do not mention a specific team.  But it is widely believed to be the Sacramento Kings.  The Kings’ owners, the Maloofs, will have to declare their intentions soon if they are indeed interested in moving to Virginia Beach.  The city council has said that a commitment from an NBA team is necessary by January in order to secure state funding for the project.

It’s been a rough season for Sacramento Kings fans.  The team has won 7 games and lost 17.  Sacramento will try to snap a five-game losing streak Wednesday night against Golden State at Sleep Train Arena.
