Yuba City Bat Tests Positive for Rabies

A bat has tested positive for rabies in Yuba City.

On May 27 a dog was seen playing with the live bat in the Clark, Jewell and Park Avenue areas.

The bat was taken to Sutter County Health Department’s Laboratory for rabies testing.

The dog will remain in a 30-day State mandated quarantine until cleared for release.

Citizens are urged to call Sutter Animal Services Authority at (530) 822-7375 if they come in contact with bats in the area.
