Friends, family and the community came together to honor three young adults who were killed when a driver going the wrong way on Interstate 80 crashed into their vehicle.

January 10th, 20-year-old Matt Azar was driving 18-year-olds Kendra Langham and Matthew Beard-Witt home west of the Madison Avenue exit.

The California Highway Patrol said soon Aaron Caudillo crashed into them going the wrong direction with his headlights off.

A week later, those who knew the victims best came to Promontory Park in El Dorados Hills to share their stories.

Caudillo survived the wreck, and CHP officers believe he was drinking.

"It just amazes me that it happened at 2:15 in the morning, which means that he actually left a bar. For a bar to serve him that much alcohol and just let him drive off," Christopher Witt, Matthew Beard-Witt's father, told FOX40. "I couldn't believe it. I literally screamed and dropped to my knees and cried."

But Kendra Langham's father, Larry Langham, told FOX40 he no longer blames Caudillo.

"He made a mistake, and we all make mistakes. What we want to say to him is that he's forgiven. Because that's what Kendra would have wanted us to say," Langham said.

Kiersten Gregory had just gone to a rave with the 3 victims durning the holidays. She's one of the ones who brought their families and friends together a week after the tragedy.

"I'm glad that was my last memory of them... they were amazing people and they deserve all of this," Gregory told FOX40.

On Sunday, January 18th, the Beach Hut Deli in Granite Bay will also be donating a portion of their earnings to the families of the victims.

The family is asking for support from the community, and families of all three victims have set up gofundme accounts you can find below:
