SACRAMENTO — What’s more exciting for a college basketball player than playing in a state-of-the-art NBA arena? How about scoring 23 points in a state-of-the-art NBA arena?

Just ask the UC Davis Aggies’ Brynton Lemar.

“It’s an amazing experience, playing here. Especially a brand new stadium. I’m just excited we got the win,” Lemar said.

Exciting too to see NCAA basketball back on Sacramento’s professional hardwood — after Sleep Train Arena was deemed too out-of-date and the college league pulled its March Madness regional finals.

This March they will be coming back to the Golden 1 Center, and that’s not all.

“Today we’re announcing that one of our games next year will be Kansas versus Stanford. And, we’ll have Sac State UC Davis again,” said Sacramento Kings President Chris Granger.

So this largely unrivaled arena, will be playing host to a favorite rivalry in the region again in the year to come.
