Latest Bid For Sacramento Kings Will Cost City
Sacramento’s Downtown Plaza is being considered a location for the new arena and entertainment complex.

A report expected to be released Thursday detailing Sacramento’s bid to try and keep the Kings is delayed, suggesting a deal is not final.

The “term sheet”, supporting documents and other information about the Entertainment and Sports Center report was going to be posted during the day, followed by a community meeting at 5:30 to discuss it.

Sacramento’s City Manager, John Shirey, released a statement Thursday saying the group continues to “have productive discussions with the Investor Group. It is important to get this right and not rush to make an artificial deadline. The bottom line for me is to get the best deal possible while adhering to the Council’s adopted core principles, including a city commitment comparable to last year, no new taxes, and protection for the General Fund.”

The meeting is still scheduled to take place Thursday night.
