SACRAMENTO -- It's been a long time, 13 years in fact, since the Sacramento Kings have had the post-season within reach.
Friday evening, Kings fans flocked to the Golden 1 Center to watch their team take on the Los Angeles Clippers.
A win Friday meant the Kings would've been one game out from making the playoffs.
Many called Friday night’s game the biggest one in more than a decade. Fans were hyped.
When asked how excited he was that the Kings have a playoff shot, Kings fan Basheer Ammar said, “extremely, especially considering this is an extremely young team, with a whole lot of potential.”
If the Kings did make the playoffs, they would've had to do so without rookie standout Marvin Bagley playing the next couple of weeks after he was injured Wednesday.
But fans believed others would step up in Bagley’s absence.
“This is the time for our young superstars, sucks we don’t have Bagley, it’s going to be an amazing time,” said Christopher Ryan.
“We are going to get better and better and we are going to do it” exclaimed another Kings fan.
