Flood Advisory Issued for Sacramento, Surrounding Areas

SACRAMENTO — The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Sacramento and surrounding areas.

The advisory was in effect from 3:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

Heavy rains were expected through much of the afternoon, with up to 3 inches possible for the region.

Sacramento, Elk Grove, Roseville, Fairfield, Vacaville, Citrus Heights, Folsom, Davis, Rocklin, Woodland, Galt, Oroville, Auburn, Grass Valley, Marysville, Palermo, El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park, Carmichael and Fair Oaks are communities that may experience flooding, according to the NWS.

Officials say to not risk driving through standing water, especially if you can’t see the road.
